যুক্তিবাদী রোকেয়া কিছুতেই মেনে নিতে পারেননি শারীরিক বলের আধিক্যহেতু পুরুষের প্রভুত্ব। পুরুষের ন্যায় সমান সুবিধালাভের অধিকার থেকে বঞ্চিত বলেই নারীরা ক্রমাগত পিছিয়ে পড়েছেন। আর এই কাজে পুরুষসমাজ অন্যায়ভাবে ব্যবহার করেছে ধর্ম-অস্ত্রকে। নারীদের অনগ্রসর করে রাখার এই পিতৃতান্ত্রিক কৌশলকে রোকেয়া মানতে পারেননি বলেই তাঁর কিছু রচনায় পুরুষ-বিদ্বেষ লক্ষ্য করা যায়।

They flew freely once, and shone brilliantly across the skies. They are no more allowed to do so. Think for once, how it feels to have learnt to dream and then denied the permission to use the knowledge acquired. You know how the food tastes. You are not allowed to eat, and you are beaten, molested, raped and killed if you desire. One can never comprehend how it feels to have taught to dream and denied to do the same, all at once over generations in repetition.
